1st ray of the year,
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
well the plan was for another shot at plaice in daylight, but circumstances conspired against me re availiable time & bait so i plumped for dusk onwards at the western end of chesil. with a neap tide & highwater about 11pm, winds light easterly?.
i arrived just as the sun was setting and so started by setting up one rod with a wishbone and the last of some sticky black worm left from hayling.
having heaved that rig out i then chucked a some shrimpy lures about
but no joy, stripped off the lures and swopped for a pennel pulley.
then sat back to watch.
1st bite came good with a small ray of a maybe couple of lbs which def cheered me up .

i swopped the wishbone for another pulley and what followed was an onslaught of dogs for the next 3 hours or so, i just stopped counting after the first 3-4.
the doggy rattles got a bit more sporadic after 21.30 as the tide rose giving the chance for a good sized (if there is such a thing) pout to get a look in.

with just the odd random dogfish to follow i'd had enough by 1am.
baits- mackerel/squid/ & a couple of blacklug.
